Fitness Centre Orientation

New to Cardel Place? New to fitness? Talk to us! The Fitness Centre is open seven days a week during regular facility hours for guests 16Y or older. Youth 11Y-15Y are required to enroll in the Fitness Centre Shoe Tag Program before gaining access to fitness equipment.  Our Fitness Centre Attendants are happy to help with any questions you may have and/or introduce you to the equipment available. Drop-In Fitness Classes

Participants must be 16Y or older. Youth 12Y-15Y may participate if accompanied by an adult. Register online or sign out a card at the Fitness Centre up to 30 minutes before class start to ensure a spot. See our February calendar for class times and instructors or visit our Daily Drop-In page.

Fitness Class Descriptions

'AB'solute Core (all levels)
Tone, strengthen and whittle your middle in this 20-minute workout. Reap the benefits of a more stable and balanced body.

Baby and You Bootcamp (all levels)
Bring baby and meet other new moms in this energetic class which couple cardiovascular drills with strength training exercises. Your stroller, various resistance equipment, and even baby are used as an integral part of the workout. Participants require a 6-week postnatal check up before participating.

BOSU Blast (intermediate)
Prepare for ultimate conditioning using strength and cardio, combined with the added challenge of the Bosu ball!  May also include some step intervals.

 
Chisel (all levels)
A fusion of cardio and strength! This ever-evolving class uses a variety of equipment for aerobic endurance and muscle sculpting.
  
FUNdamental Family Fitness
Get fit as a family and start your path to wellness.  Our certified trainers set-up a fun, safe circuit for families, aimed at developing balance, strength and flexibility.

Gently Fit (beginner)
Strength and cardio components that can be modified to suit individual fitness levels. In conjunction with the Living Well Maintenance Program.

HIIT
High intensity interval training is the 'express lane' to fat burning!  Using cycle drills at a high intensity, you can achieve maximum results.
 
HIIT/KRANK/Core (intermediate/advanced)
Challenge cycling endurance and skill with intervals, jumps, hills, sprints and more! You'll do high intensity interval training and workout your core!

Intro Hatha Yoga (beginner)
Actively participate in this introductory Hath Yoga class to energize yourself with a variety of relaxing postural movements.

 
KRANK - (intermediate/advanced)
Riders, are you tough enough to handle this intense cycle workout? Advanced components including intervals, hills and sprints.

 
Mixed Level Yoga
Link postures together, connecting breath with movement. Deepen awareness of your body as you work according to the limits of your individual flexibility and strength.
 
Power Yoga (all levels)
Link postures together, connecting breath and movement in this short, intense session.
 
Rear Assets (all levels)
Get your ‘rear in gear’ with a workout of epic proportions! It’s an interval cardio and muscle shocking class.
 
STACKED (all levels)
Shave off fat and carve out muscle! Each week the format changes to stimulate fat burning and muscle toning.

Step & Sculpt (all levels)
A great combination of step aerobics and strength conditioning.

Sweat & Steel (beginner/intermediate)
This intense circuit rotates through cardio and strength stations using a variety of equipment for a total body workout.

Turbo Krank (all levels)
Intense cycle workout. Burst of cardio on Keiser M3 bikes.


Turbo Krank & Core  (beginner/intermediate)
40 minutes of intense spinning followed by 20 minutes of core.


ZUMBA® (all levels)
Combination of fitness and dance. Fusion of Latin rhythms and easy to follow moves for an exhilarating cardio workout.

 
ZUMBA® Toning (all levels)
Join the party and take it to the next level with dumbbells.
