Are you looking for something exciting to keep your children occupied and entertained this summer - something a little different from normal? Our specialized programs may be just the thing for your child! In addition to making new friends and having tons of fun, your child will leave these camps with increased knowledge and skills. Shh...don't tell them that they'll learn something; they'll be having too much fun to notice! Space is extremely limited and these camps fill up fast so we recommend registering early.


Full Day Programs: 

Art in Motion:

Explore your creative side with sketching, painting and sculpture activities. Participants will be challenged to develop a deeper understanding of colors, work on drawing skills, build papercraft and incorporate three dimensional materials into art projects. Be prepared to explore your imagination, bring sketchbooks outside and wear clothes you can get creative in (aka messy). All supplies are included. *Curriculum may change based on the interest and ability of the group.

For the Love of the Game, Sports!

Perfect for the active boy or girl, this full day program is filled with – you guessed it – SPORTS!  Days are spent both outside (weather dependent) or in the gym, and include a variety of common and not so common sports. Each week also features at least one special guest for some in-depth skill instruction and exposure to new & different sports. This camp will ensure a good nights’ sleep for even the most active child! *Curriculum may change based on the interest and ability of the group.

Through Nature's Eyes Camp!

Build your relationship to nature on these fun, full day nature camps. Learn to see with expert eyes. Explore nature with all five senses and develop your superpowers.
The powers of physical senses are: Touch, super vision, listening and your sense of smelling. Add being super quiet and stealthy and you have 5! At this camp you will gain the skills of the Great Horned Owl, the Grizzly Bear, the Swanson’s hawk, the Lynx and the Chorus Frog. Learn about the special plants that the Blackfoot, the early Ranchers and Farmers needed, to survive and create their homes. Re-discover the amazing relationship to nature’s superpower helpers.

A perfect choice for the fearless girl! Come join us for a week of girls-only fun! Activities may include making your very own jewelry, dancing, sports, crafts, and so much more! Come join in on an exciting week of science. Enrich your child’s learning experiences through hands on science activities all the while HAVING FUN! Kids With Cameras - Half Day Photography Camp

Do you like taking photos? Then this is the camp for you! Bring your DSLR camera and come join Chenoa of Let There Be Light Photography, for our Kids with Cameras Photography Camp.

For your child to have their best experience at our summer camps, please make us aware of any needs that could affect their participation. There are times when a child requires more support than our ratios provide. If that is the case, the program coordinator will request the parent/guardian to provide a support worker/aide to attend camp with their child.

    Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, increased health and safety steps will also be in place. 
  • Limiting shared items
  • Sanitizing items between uses
  • Reduced group sizes
  • No mingling of different camps
  • Completing a symptom check upon arrival to camp each day
  • Assigned cohort bathrooms
  • Increased cleaning and sanitization of bathrooms and touch points
  • Increased hand washing for staff and camps

To ensure the health and safety of all participants, Cardel Rec South has the following standards in place: 

  • Participants should come each day dressed appropriately in comfortable shoes and have play clothes that can get dirty.
  • All of our programs include an outdoor component; participants should have a bag that includes a hat, bug spray, sunscreen and water bottle.
  • Half-day participants should bring a small snack, full day participants should bring a healthy lunch as well as one snack for the morning and one snack for the afternoon.
  • To protect those participants with allergies, NO NUT products are allowed.
  • Although there is a concession on-site, we do NOT recommend sending your child with money.
  • Participants in the art programs are encouraged to bring a smock or old shirt to wear while working on painting projects.
  • Cardel Rec South is not responsible for any items that may be lost or stolen. Please refrain from bringing any valuables to the programs. (ie: electronics, money etc.)
  • Lower ratios are in place for Preschool programs. All participants in these programs MUST be fully toilet trained.
  • Unfortunately pre and post camp care services are not available.

 **Important Information**

Registration deadlines for each session are one (1) week prior to course start date. In order to guarantee your spot we strongly recommend signing up early! Classes fill up quickly and in an effort to keep our instructor/student ratios low we do limit registration numbers in each class. Late registrations will be accepted provided there is space available in the class. We reserve the right to cancel classes if minimum numbers are not met by the registration deadline. Member rates are available for Cardel Rec South Founding Members as well as members of the following community associations: Millrise, Midnapore, Sundance, Shawnessy, Evergreen, Shawnee, Chaparral, Bridlewood, Somerset & Silverado.

Refund Policy: Refunds requested up to one week prior to the start date of desired program will receive a full refund. For cancellations within 7 days of the program start date or if the program has started Refunds will only be issued for medical reasons, and will require a doctors note prior to the the refund being processed.

The refund amounts will be pro-rated based upon the number of classes remaining in the program. All refunds requested after the registration deadline, regardless of the reason are subject to a $10.00 admin fee.

Please Note: There will be a $45.00 fee charged on all NSF cheques posted to South Fish Creek Recreation Association.
